El Enemigo has quickly become one of Argentina’s top wine estates, specialising in high-altitude, single-vineyard Cabernet Franc cuvées and Bordeaux blends. They also produce a range of single-vineyard cuvées from the lesser-known variety Bonarda.

El Enemigo – literally translating as “the enemy” – is a joint venture between Alejandro Vigil (soil expert and chief winemaker at Catena Zapata since 2002) and Adrianna Catena (historian and viticulturalist), established in 2008 to focus on crafting cool-climate, high-altitude Cabernet Franc – inspired by the likes of Cheval Blanc.
