Drink 2022-2032, FINE+RARE, Oct 2022

Henry Bruno de Coincy is perhaps best known for making stunning Pomerol at his much-loved Ch. Belle Brise estate. But he is also the 20th generation of his family to craft fine brandy at La Fontaine de Coincy, continuing a tradition that has been going for over 700 years. The 1989 Bas-Armagnac from La Fontaine de Coincy has a beautiful bright amber colour. The nose is open with complex aromatics of dried berry fruit, fresh leather, sultanas, and black treacle. The palate is both viscous and vinous with dried cherry, marzipan and dark chocolate flavours. It is wonderfully smooth with a vibrant, spicy finish.
