Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2018-2023, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2017

55% Pinot Noir (of which 19% was red wine), 30% Chardonnay, 11% Pinot Meunier. Dosage is just 5g/l, as it has been since 2002 for both Grand Vintage Moëts. Mid salmon pink. Unexpectedly savoury on the nose, and then the Pinot Noir asserts itself with perfume on the palate. This seems more astringent than the white version. And certainly not remotely sweet even though there is a light strawberry note. I'd want to give it a bit more time even though it has had seven years on the lees and six months in bottle after disgorgement. (JR)
