All Chardonnay. Mid greenish gold. Very respectable and a fine tribute to a major character in the evolution of English wine, the owner of Ridgeview Mike Roberts, who died recently. Bone dry and super refreshing. It hasn't taken on enormous subtlety but it is very creditably fresh. Disgorged August 2014. (JR)

Magnum. Chardonnay. RS 12 g/l, tartaric acidity 10.3 g/l. Not much fizz. Fruit just a little stale. Quite assertive and sweet on the front palate but very coarse and astringent overall. (JR)

Decanted from magnum into a regular bottle. Unusually deep straw. Some autolysis. Some interest and meat even if not much finesse. Pretty chewy. No aggressive acidity. Only very slightly coarse textured for a Blanc de Blancs. Fresh, dry finish with some length. (JR)
