FINE+RARE

Only the finest grapes from the Grande Champagne region are used to make Maison Frapin’s Cuvée Rabelais. After being distilled on lees, the eau de vie slumbers in the Cognac house’s Paradise Cellars, reserved for its most precious liquid. Cuvée Rabelais is named in honour of Maison Frapin founder Pierre Frapin’s ancestor, the famed writer and humanist, François Rabelais. The resulting liquid is spectacularly complex, bristling with delicate ripples of orange, apricot, dried fruit and just a subtle hint of woody aromas that reveals the depth of character of this spritely veteran. Yet it is on the palate that the spirit really comes into its own, unveiling a whole new dimension, melting and fusing notes of dried fruit and liquorice culminating in a complex crescendo of Charentais rancio and an exceptionally long finish indicative of the superlative aged Cognac encapsulated within.
