Medium lemon. Lightly floral with aromas of lemon oil and toasted brioche. Fresh acidity on the palate with a soft mousse and evolving notes of caramel and oats. (SCJ)

Score 18/20 · Drink 2023-2033, Jancis Robinson MW, Nov 2023

A blend of 86% Chardonnay and 14% Pinot Noir from Napa, Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino counties. 26% of the wine was barrel-fermented, the rest in steel. Spends eight years on the lees. Disgorged in April of 2023. 2,450 cases made.           Aromas of candied lemon peel, baked apples and toasted brioche. Wonderfully saline flavours of candied lemon, pastry cream, flaky pastry and apples are all borne on a silky, voluminous mousse. Clean and bright, with lemon pith and wet chalkboard lingering in the finish. Outstanding. (AY)
