(L642 1191 etched on bottle) Vivid light gold with an energetic mousse. Fresh citrus pith and smoky minerals complement pear and nectarine aromas, with a suave toasty character adding depth. Vibrant orchard fruit flavors are deep but lively, picking up an exotic floral honey quality on the long, chewy finish. Plenty going on already but this has the depth and balance to repay cellaring.

Pale orange. Captivating, highly nuanced nose hints at raspberry, cherry, blood orange, maple syrup, peat, mushroom and marzipan. Powerful and penetrating, with high-pitched flavors of red berries, orange, spices and nuts intensified by strong acidity. Very juicy, very dry Champagne that should be flexible at the dinner table. This may well merit a higher score with four to six years of bottle aging.
