Score 92/100 · Drink 2015-2023, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2014

The 2009 Brut Rosé is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Soft and supple on the palate, the 2009 captures the radiance of the year in its inviting, supple personality. Hints of smoke, chalk, red berries and rose petals caress the palate. There is plenty of acidity and overall energy, too, but a bit less of multi-dimensional structure and overall complexity of the very best wines in this range. Still, that is a small critique given just how delicious the wine is.

The 2009 Rosé Vintage is 70% Pinot Noir from Cumières and 30% Chardonnay from Mesnil and Avize. Roughly 12% of the wine is aged in oak. Today the Rosé is hard to fully appreciate as the tannins make it rather imposing, but it is very, very early days for this wine.
