Ch. Berliquet

The Chanel group – owners of Ch. Rauzan-Ségla and Ch. Canon – added Berliquet to their stable of wine estates in 2017. Since then, the team – led by Nicolas Audebert – has been transforming the property, gradually revealing this special Saint-Emilion site’s potential.

This Saint-Emilion estate sits on the western limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion, between Angélus and Ausone, with the 10-hectare plot of vines surrounded on three sides by Canon’s vineyards. It has a long history stretching back to the 1740s, although the property was under-appreciated for years. The wine was bottled by a local co-operative until the late 1970s, when owner Patrick de Lesquen brought vinification in house, beginning the transformation here. His work led to the property being re-classified in 1986, the only château to be promoted that year, earning a spot as one of the region’s Grands Crus Classés.
