FINE+RARE

Coche-Dury might be better known for their whites, but the calibre of this domaine ensures that nothing less than excellent leaves the estate. Their Bourgogne Rouge is a benchmark example, especially from the 2007 vintage that produced bright and pure wines – now drinking beautifully. The fruit comes from vines planted between 1973 and 1980, and all the fruit is de-stemmed.

Quite austere on the nose. Green fruits like? And some leafiness. Not that ripe. From low-lying vineyards? Just a hint of lime flavoured fruit in the middle. Crystal lime. (JR)
