2005 Chapelle de Potensac

(Potensac's second wine, first made in 2002.) As with its stablemate Nénin, I sense a few slightly green oak tannins on the nose of this. Standard Médoc with more suavity than most. Very solid and stolid – lots of press wine? No, less than 5 per cent according to the figures. You’d never guess this was 60 per cent Merlot. Grumbles a bit – – not a charmer – but if it makes Potensac better…... (JR)
