Blackish ruby. Very sweet and porty on the nose. Awfully baked. A lack of freshness and too much rhubarb-stew character. Was this picked a tad too late? I would probably like it if it were served in isolation but alongside subtler Barolo 2006s it looks a little heavy handed. (JR)

Barolo. Medium ruby with orange tinge. Somewhat nutty and vegetal, with contrasting sweet palate. Astringent finish. Ever so slightly dull? (WS)
