Bright ruby, already transparent. Pale rim. Light, rather gamey nose. Fully evolved – in fact the fruit seems to be gently waving farewell. Tannins, not acidity, making their presence felt. Club claret. Definitely worth paying the premium for the 2009. (JR)

Meaty and fully ripe. Lots of familiar, well-balanced and actually ripe fruit. Just a hint of gaminess but this could be the best buy for Francophile kosher keepers. Still quite youthful. (JR)
Leafy, verging on unripe but then more juicy than expected on the palate. Light, dry aftertaste. (JH)
Crimson with a very pale broad rim. Lightish but juicy and easy. You could enjoy the freshness of this wine now! (JR)
About the producer
This estate saw a transformation when Guy Pagès bought it in 1970. His work, driving quality higher with increasing attention to detail and passion, has been continued by his son Patrice, who took over in 1985.
