The NV Brut Chardonnay Grand Cru Mumm de Cramant is a pretty, lithe Champagne laced with white fruits. The wine reveals lovely inner perfume, with suggestions of graphite and stone that add a dimension of energy and lift to the clean, minerally finish. The Mumm de Cramant is delicious today, and should continue to drink nicely for a number of years. This is Lot: L1280800213, no disgorgement date provided. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2019. This is a mixed set of new releases from Mumm. While the NV Brut Cordon Rouge and NV Brut Chardonnay Grand Cru Mumm de Cramant are both delicious, I found the 1998 Brut Cuvee Prestige Cuvee R. This refined, medium-bodied Champagne offers an attractive inner perfume and lovely length on the palate in an accessible style. The Mumm de Cramant is made in the lower atmosphere,cremant-style, which contributes to its delicate personality. This bottle was disgorged on October 15th, 2007. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2010. Mumm, owned today by the Pernod Ricard group, is one of Champagne’s historic houses.
