Natural ferment, fermented in steel and aged in big oak botti for 18 months. Mid garnet with a soft rim. Smells somehow soft and a little dusty. Gentle first impression, dark-red cherry fruit and lightly savoury/spicy and a touch of sweet vanilla. Gentle but inviting. Really moreish and satisfying on the palate, more spicy than on the nose, with a fine tannic texture and a long juicy finish. Digestible and whole. Perfect current drinking. (JH)

Proper Sangiovese flavours: sour cherry, leather, violet. Fine grained but perky tannins. Admirably good for a supposed secondary appellation. (RH)
