Bright ruby-red. Exotic white fruit notes along with sexy spices and herbs on the nose. Suave on entry, then a tad pinched in the middle, with idiosyncratic flavors of peach, passion fruit and mocha. Finishes with good floral lift and a slight dryness. Intriguing Pomerol, but an oddball.

A sexy wine from proprietor Michel Querre, the 2010 Moulin is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. It has an exotic toasty note intermixed with sensual and seductive notes of caramel, Asian spice and black cherry jam as well as hints of plum sauce and incense. Its complex aromatics are followed by a deep, luscious, succulently styled wine that is medium to full-bodied without a hard edge to be found. It is hard to resist already, and for that reason should be consumed over the next 10-15 years.

Sweet black cherry nose – as though it weren’t 2010! A bit simple and gassy but covers the bases. Greenish finish. (JR)

This well made Pomerol has flavours of plums, blackberries, cedar and cassis. On the palate, the flavours are balanced by velvety tannins and firm acidity. A fairly early drinking style with approachable flavours. asianpalate.com
