Gentle dark-fruit aroma. Juicy, gentle and fresh. Lots of straightforward pleasure and fine, powdery tannins. Not a lot of flesh. (JH)

Light, vaguely creamy, rather closed. The palate is juicy and inviting to begin with, but turns lemon-sour on the finish. (AH)

Due to be bottled at the end of January, the 2013 Bourgogne Rouge is matured in 20% new oak and the rest one-year-old. It has a clean crisp red cherry and bergamot-scented bouquet. There is some piquancy on the palate with good acidity, the new oak lending some weight on the finish. This is quite dense for a generic Bourgogne, but retains admirable balance and length.
