The 2006 Brut Millésimé is the polar opposite of the 2007, bursting from the glass with a rich bouquet of honeyed pears, smoke, yellow stone fruit and buttered toast. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and gourmand, it's broad and enveloping, with a layered core and a nicely defined finish. This is in its prime today.

50:50 Chardonnay:Pinot Noir. Low-acid year, especially for Chardonnay. Disgorged February 2017. Dosage 8 g/l too (just like the 2007 tasted immediately before). Quite deep yellow. Broad and lightly nutty on the nose. Again, the compressed, tight-knit style of Laurent-Perrier but much more obviously sweet and almost lemon-cream/syllabub notes. Friendly and accessible. Easy-peasy. Light to medium weight. Almost crème pâtissière. A certain softness. (JR)
50% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir. Dosage 9 g/l. Smells rather like roast chicken on the nose, complete with sage stuffing. A bit woody on the palate. Crisp but a bit ordinary for the price. (JH)
Relatively light impact but everything is well balanced. Very neat. Absolutely correct without being in any way a standout. Impressive impact on the finish. (JR)
