100% Chardonnay. From two close parcels, one Cramant (Les Bionnes), one Avize (Le Champ Bouton), both with thin soil over hard chalk. Dosage 5 g/l. Very nervy and tense. Fine-boned and very much more to my taste than the Terroirs (2012 and 2011) from this producer. Still quite chewy but already developing a fine smoky nose. (JR)

Score 90/100 · Drink 2016-2020, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Nov 2016

The 2010 Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Minéral Grand Cru is a powerful, tightly wound wine that may need some time to show at its best. Even so, the honey, candied apricot, chamomile, brioche and vanillin are all suggestive of a wine that is on a relatively fast aging curve. The 2010 will drink well relatively early, but I would not wait too long, as the Minéral does not appear to be built for long-term aging. As always, the Minéral emerges from Les Champboutons (in Avize) and Les Bionnes (in Cramant) vineyards. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: March 2016.
