The 1955 Rivesaltes from Domaine Marquis de Boaca is one that I have tasted before. And frankly, I hold the same sentiment in that the nose was missing a little intensity and power, yet the palate is beautifully balanced with gorgeous quince and marmalade notes and a lovely tang of orange rind on the finish.

Grenache Noir, and may contain some Malvoisie de Roussillon, but there is very little information available for this wine. Orange/yellow dark tawny. Very rich and sweet, but a bit dry and tart on the end. A bit too reduced. Lots of evaporation and perhaps aged a bit too long in oak. Not as impressive as when tasted in 2014. (JR)

Cask sample. Very dark brownish . Treacle nose. Very rich and intense. Great sweetness. A big wine! Massively much darker than the 1964. Maybe more black grapes? Lots of excitement. Prune juice plus subtlety and freshness. (JR)
