2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes

Very complex nose of sweet spices, figs, cigar box and ripe berries. It also has incredible aromas of dark cherries, liquorice, kirsch followed by hints of coffee and dried flowers. This 2001 is still very much alive with smooth silky tannins that move on to a tremendously long sweet finish. This is drinking beautifully now but will without a doubt continue to evolve gracefully for another 3-5 years.
