The 2016 Corton Clos de la Vigne Au Saint Grand Cru offers lively red cherry, cranberry and pomegranate scents on the nose, touches of gravel and tobacco surfacing with aeration, quite pretty and vivacious. The palate is well balanced with fine tannin, a keen bead of acidity, structured and grippy with more body on the finish that some of its peers. Maybe there is some nascent toughness to contend with, but that should soften with time. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.

This is really classy with beautiful tannins and pretty ripe fruit. Linear and fine. Full body, gorgeous tannins and a breathtaking finish. Wow. Drink in 2022.
