Score 93/100 · Drink 2027-2046, Neal Martin, Dec 2023

The 2019 Grands-Echézeaux Grand Cru offers brambly red fruit on the nose—cranberry and wild strawberry—and is a little disjointed at first, although it coheres in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine but firm tannins. Quite classic in style for a 2019, linear and reserved, I can imagine a long decant revealing a fleshier wine. I like the cut of its jib, but it will require a few years in bottle, and I wager that it won't appeal to those seeking tons of luscious fruit. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
