The 2019 Meursault Village opens in the glass with notes of honeyed pears, white flowers and peach, complemented by hints of buttered toast and praline. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise, it's charming and generous, with lively acids and a nicely defined finish.

The 2019 Meursault Village was tasted without the Clos de la Baron cuvée. The bouquet is very well defined and full of vigor, quite tensile and steely given the warmth of the growing season. The palate is pure and honeyed on the entry, and quite spicy, leading to a rounded, tropical-tinged finish with plenty of freshness that Dominique Lafon ascribed to intentionally picking greener berries.

Blend of their different lieux-dits. Cask sample. Fine and fresh with linden-leaf flavours. Lots of tension, racy with light chewiness. This blend of cuvées with different lifespans is very successful and offers impressive layers of different flavours. (JR)
