(14.5% alcohol): Good dark red-ruby. Aromas and flavors of currant, cocoa powder and mocha are complicated by suggestionss of truffley vegetility and herbs. Supple, sweet and easygoing. Evolving quickly but possesses good energy. Finishes with building dusty tannins that may yet soften a bit with a few more years in the bottle.

From Howell Mountain, the 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Dancing Bear Ranch is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Completely different than the Benchland Select, it exhibits more earth, underbrush, forest floor and meaty, animal-like notes. This big, rich, mountain Cabernet possesses plenty of dark fruit characteristics along with lots of complexity. Although close to full maturity, it is capable of lasting another decade or more. Tel.
