The expressive 2018 Côtes du Jura Les Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes originates from vines planted in 1919. It bursts onto the scene with pronounced notes of hay, chamomile, flintstone, lemon zest and baked apple. On the palate, the 2018 is intense, concentrated and boldly structured, yet perfectly balanced by lively acidity. The finish is remarkably refined, leaving a lasting impression of elegance and complexity. This delicious wine is well worth the pursuit. It promises to dazzle for many years to come.

The 2018 Les Grands Teppes Vieilles Vignes, produced with Chardonnay grapes from vines planted in 1919 on red marl and gravel soils, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in neutral oak barrels for four years with the lees and was bottled unfined, unfiltered and with no added sulfur, the new Ganevat way for ouillé or topped-up whites. The wine is slightly reductive (I drank a bottle shortly after, and the reduction was still there but went away after a few minutes in the glass), with a note of struck match, but it is also precise, clean and fresh, with a pale color and crystalline flavors. This is pristine and a little austere, developing some spiciness (faintly reminiscent of flor...), with a long, tasty and salty finish. A superb Teppes that transcends the character of the vintage.
