If you never tasted a good red Beaune, then this would be a good place to start, thanks to the fragrant red-fruit and floral nose, then the ripe and suave palate, where the tannins are already so well integrated that almost all you see is the fruit character that dances over them. Long and delicate finish. Drink or hold.

Intense and ripe, verging on overripe on the nose – you don’t often find that in Burgundy! Just a little soft on the palate. Unlikely to make very old bones, I feel. (JR)
