The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru feels quite subdued on this day, missing the flamboyance and sensuality that normally one seeks from this vineyard. The palate is more promising with succulent ripe black cherries, boysenberry jam and a sprinkled of sea salt, certainly well balanced with plenty of finesse towards the persistent finish. Very fine, though maybe I expected more?

Domaine Fourrier is located in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin. The estate has been run by Jean-Marie Fourrier since 1994, and has rapidly become one of the village’s most fashionable names, known for producing pure and transparent Pinot Noir.
