The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has a very attractive nose of brambly red fruit, wild strawberry, sous-bois , wilted rose petal and orange zest. Just a suggestion of Brettanomyces emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with very pliant tannins, fine acidity, a little more savory edge than its peers and a tangy, saline finish. Nascent in style, this clearly deserves three or four years in bottle, but there is much promise. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Another of the portfolio's highlights is the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes, a deep and complete cuvée evocative of cherries, raspberries, rose petals, exotic spices and incense. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and layered, its chassis of ripe, powdery tannins is entirely concealed by the wine's concentrated core of vibrant fruit.
