Score 91/100 · David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, Jun 2007

The 2005 Vosne-Romanee Les Jachees smells of ripe blackberry, charred but rare meats, blood orange, and ocean breezes. Juicy, meaty, and expansive in the mouth, it strikes a lovely balance between incipient creaminess and an invigorating edge of tart fresh fruit skin. Subtle cumin and coriander spices emerge in the finish, which boasts a lip-smacking lusciousness that Bizot’s two previous 2005s were missing. With a fine tannic structure to complement its bright fruit concentration, this should be a good candidate for 3-5 years in the cellar. Importer: Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, CA; tel.
