Tasting notes
Score 91/100 · Drink 2021-2033, Neal Martin, Sep 2021

The 2015 Jean Faure has a very pleasant, youthful bouquet, delivering plenty of raspberry, wild strawberry, melted tar and cedar notes that possess more complexity than the previous vintage. The medium-bodied, finely tuned palate offers fine-grained tannins, well-judged acidity and a silky-smooth, mineral-rich finish (in fact, this is the most mineral-driven Jean Faure that I have tasted). This is an excellent 2015 that is drinking beautifully now, but it will offer another decade of drinking pleasure.

Well-integrated nose. Round with some evolved fruit on the nose. Acidity is more evident than tannin on the palate. But there is some vibrancy. Good direction, in a voluptuous style. (JR)

The 2015 Jean Faure has a rather earnest bouquet that is trying to impress, although it does not have the same class as the 2015 Martinet tasted alongside. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly angular tannins, some hardness creeping up on the finish that almost stumbles over the finish line. Tasted at the Oenoconseil tasting room in Bordeaux.
