FINE+RARE, Jan 2024

Domaine Faiveley’s Clos du Roy is a firm favourite at FINE+RARE – and especially so in 2022. In this vintage, the wine is singing with juicy fruit – dark cherry and blackberry as well as brighter raspberry freshness. There’s an intensity to the fruit on the palate, all cut by a mouth-watering salinity and tart acidity. The tannins are beautifully fine, with a long, smoky finish. Hard to resist. Drink now and over the next decade.

Bright mid crimson. Super-fruity with good balance and only a slightly countrified edge before being dominated by rather dry tannins on the finish. Wait for this one. (JR)
