100% Montepulciano form a single west-facing vineyard on poor sandstone soils. Certified organic (Valoritalia). Very pale pink. A shy, savoury strawberry nose with iodine notes. Sweet strawberry fruit followed by refreshing acidity. 5 g of residual sugar because the wine did not ferment fully dry. I can understand the problem but the RS is a touch too lingering. (WS)

100% Montepulciano. Hand-harvested and immediately pressed to extract only the free-run juice. No maceration on the skins. Spontaneous fermentation at low temperatures for a month. Aged for a further 6 months on its lees. Certified organic. Mid peach. Lots of ripe, satisfying fruit on the palate. This tastes more like a red wine than a pink! It has the fruit weight. Just enough acidity to refresh. If this were more persistent, I might even give it 17. Well bought! (JR)
