How different is this Meyer-Näkel 2021 (compared with their S cuvée). Beautiful heady nose with masses of mouth-watering fruit. Blood orange and pomegranate and wild red plums. Woodland strawberries stippled with spice and an underlying hush of earthiness: caraway, clove, nutmeg and mushroom sweetness. This is a stunner. Long, savoury, tense. The tannins are broad and strong but utterly transparent, allowing all the fruit to shine through. Well done! (TC)

Aged in 60% new oak. Mesmerising notes of wild strawberry, blackcurrant and toast, rosemary and rose. Sleek and coiled, this complex wine is slow to come around on the palate. Through the seemingly deliberate reserve one feels the power and momentum coursing within. Elegant tannins and racy acidity. It's not about concentration and charm, rather tension and restraint. Cedar and spice on the long and lingering finish. (PS)
