Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Nov 2024

This Premier Cru, in the heart of the village, is one of Chassagne-Montrachet’s oldest climats. Southeast-facing, the vines were largely planted in the 1940s – lending old-vine intensity to the wine. The nose of the 2023 is elegant and mineral, but with a pleasing nutty edge. It’s gourmand, with hints of orange peel and white orchid. The palate has great energy, with an excellent nerve of acidity. It’s relatively full-bodied and mouthcoating, with the round creaminess running through the long palate. A highlight of our tasting, it’s showing beautifully now but will age gracefully – and will be best after two or three years in the cellar.
