Drink 2034-2050, FINE+RARE, Nov 2024

Roche de Bellene’s 2023 Chevalier-Montrachet is something else. Concentrated and fleshy, the array of fruit aromas hits you instantly. The mineral yet powerful palate is driven by spectacular acidity, but with a sensation of finesse and elegance that arrives on the mid-palate, with notes of refreshingly sweet honey. The palate is terrific and long. An exceptional wine, and with just one barrel produced, a rare one too. This is a great wine in the making; forget about it for seven or eight years and then open at will. One barrel produced, with 100% new oak.

100% new oak. Cask sample. Classic and deep-flavoured. So rich yet tense! Savoury and exciting with a suitably dry finish.
