A prototypical Beaune with wonderful red-berry aromas plus some delicate vegetal notes that add freshness and tension. Healthy, well-rounded tannin structure gently builds in the long, slightly savory finish. From organically grown grapes. A cuvee of 17 premier cru sites. Drink now.

The 2023 Beaune du Château 1er Cru has a pretty nose with blackberry and wild hedgerow scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, yet it remains fresh and is a little sharper than the 2022 last year. This is what you might call an "honest" Beaune that will give a decade of drinking pleasure.

A rich dense purple. The nose has a slightly inky note because of the low sulphur regime at this point of the elevage. Dark black cherries and raisins, good acidity, chunky stuff. Past experience suggests that the wine will refine from here.
