Martinelli’s Zindfandel is a rich, high-octane wine of considerable intensity, fragrance, and richness. The 2004 Zinfandel Giuseppe & Luisa (175 cases) exhibits huge aromas of fresh mushrooms, roasted meats, spice box, incense, licorice, raisins, and plenty of sweet currants and plums. A full-throttle, mouth-coating Zinfandel with no hard edges, it should drink well for another 5-7 years. Tel. (707) 525-0570

(16.6% alcohol) Good dark red-ruby. Highly aromatic nose of raspberry liqueur, orange zest and dusty minerality. A compellingly sweet fruit bomb on the palate, with explosive raspberry flavor carried by the wine's powerful spine. This was aged in one-third new oak, which seems like just the right amount of wood.

Martinelli

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
