Score 88/100 · Drink 2014-2018, Robert Parker, Aug 2014

Because of this terroir’s limestone soils, 2003 was not nearly as stressful for this vineyard as for those planted in gravelly, sandy soils. The result is a fully mature, elegant 2003 offering lots of herbaceously-tinged black cherry fruit, soft tannins and a round, medium-bodied texture. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.

Deep savoury plum colour with very sweet plummy appeal. Rich, round and full. Extremely flattering. Halfway between a Tertre Roteboeuf and Valandraud style, though not as intense as either. (JR)
