Score 92/100 · Drink 2022-2036, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Nov 2022

Eucalyptus, mint leaf and spiced plum. The Cabernet Sauvignon is edged with cool-climate notes of tomato leaf and waxed, slightly austere blue fruits, just a little disappointing right now. But looking at the develpment of the 2004 and the 2006, both bursting out of the glass, you can be confident in the development of this wine, just give this a little more time or a serious carafing, as it is closed and not showing its best today. 45% new oak. Tasted blind. Dark lustrous crimson. Sweet and rich and round though it could do with just a bit more freshness. Fun for relatively early drinking. (JR)

Tame nose with restrained black-cherry fruit and a bit of granite aroma too. Fine, chalky tannins with just a hint of metallic, ferrous character on the finish. (RH)

Ch. Gloria
Gloria

The modest Ch. Gloria was only created in the 1940s, when Henri Martin – a cooper – purchased some vines. With parcels dotted in amongst the region’s Classed Growths, it produces impressive wines. Today it's managed by Vanessa and Jean Triaud (Henri Martin’s granddaughter and grandson-in-law).
