1997 Bouchard Père & Fils Montrachet Grand Cru

Relatively discreet and reserved for a '97 though the nose has opened considerably since the last time I tasted it. The flavors offer good density and power though not necessarily much complexity at this point but are gorgeously textured and completely coat the palate. In sum, this is classically styled and quite impressive in the context of the vintage and it will need every bit of 10 years to really strut its stuff. Allen Meadows, Burghound. Apr01,2003
