Coche's 1995 Meursault Village is drinking brilliantly today, offering up aromas of honeyed orchard fruit, buttered citrus and toasted nuts mingled with hints of oyster shell, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and layered palate that's textural and concentrated, with terrific cut and a long, penetrating finish. As is often the case, with almost 30 years in bottle, the wine underlines that attention to detail and a passion for excellence count for more than appellation hierarchy.
