Good full red with ruby highlights. Wild aromas of red plum, leather and earth. Fat, sweet and broad, but with a restraint to the flavors of raspberry, plum and earth. Quite tight today, and showing less lift than the other 2004s I tried. Finishes with big tannins but also a lot of fruit.

Good deep red-ruby. Black cherry, pepper and herbs on the nose. Juicy but not yet sweet, with a subdued flavor of strawberry. Finishes with rather dominant tannins and a suggestion of black licorice. An awkward showing today for this normally very ripe and rich wine; I don't yet find a lot of personality.
