Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2012-2017, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2007

First bottle: Dark, luminous crimson but with very pale rim. Very fresh and enticing but with perhaps too much green stalkiness. Finely etched with good delineation. Punchy but not enough weight. Second bottle: Rounder and fresher and fruitier. (JR)

Good medium red. Highly complex aromas of red fruits, smoke and underbrush. Then juicy, vibrant and nuanced in the mouth, with musky flavors of dark berries, black cherry, minerals and spices, plus an exhilarating suggestion of wild rose. Lovely racy, gripping, classy Amoureuses, finishing with fairly substantial but wonderfully smooth tannins. This is superb for the year and should be cellared until at least 2011.

Medium red. Aromas of raspberry, flowers, mint and pepper. Dense, sappy and sweet, with lovely purity of fruit complicated by a suggestion of herbes de Provence. Silky, gripping and intense, finishing with repeating peppery and herbal nuances. Roumier destemmed this fruit completely, as this vineyard was hard-hit by hail.
