Good deep ruby. Ripe, complex aromas of cassis, licorice, graphite and cedar; an essence of this vineyard. Then rich, sweet and thoroughly ripe, with an almost exotic quality but excellent cut and lift to the velvety dark fruit, licorice and mineral flavors. Finishes very broad and very long, with fine tannins reaching the teeth and a lingering note of bitter chocolate. This really perfumes the palate.

Full ruby-red. Knockout perfumed nose combines plum, currant, tobacco and flowers. Wonderfully sweet and pure in the mouth, with strong minerality giving lift and precision to the middle palate. This densely packed yet weightless wine really reverberates on the back end. The sweet tannins and harmonious acids are barely visible today, but, like the superb 2006 version, this wine should enjoy two decades of evolution in bottle.
