Deep, dark crimson. Extraordinarily ambitious for the appellation with both fruit and tannin and no shortage of acidity either! Hard work currently. This is one of those Bourgognes that may just turn into a swan from the current ugly-duckling status. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. (JR)

The 2020 Bourgogne Roncevie is very high-toned on the nose with cassis and maraschino scents, quite floral but missing a little delineation. The palate is ripe and sweet on the entry, fine acidity, well balanced with a crisp if short black cherry finish. A straight to the point Bourgogne Rouge.
