The 2020 Gigondas Hominis Fides, from a vineyard just across the road from Les Claux, is another elegant, medium to full-bodied beauty. It's not massive and shows the pure, seamless style of the vintage with beautiful darker berry fruits, loamy soil, graphite, and ground pepper aromatics. This layered, multi-dimensional, flawlessly balanced Gigondas is going to evolve for at least two decades.

Limpid ruby color. Spice-accented kirsch, black raspberry, incense and licorice scents show superb detail and expand steadily with air. Sweet and broad in the mouth, offering densely bitter cherry, red berry preserve, candied lavender and vanilla flavors that tighten up steadily on the back half. Finishes extremely long and spicy, with resonating florality, a hint of Chambord and youthfully gripping tannins. All whole clusters and one-third new oak.
