2015 Jurij Fiore Chianti Classico Lamole Puntodivista

The 2015 Chianti Classico Lamole PuntodiVista is fabulous. Dark, pliant and explosive, it shows the potential of this site. The old, head-trained vineyard yields fruit that has more than enough natural richness to handle French oak. The dark cherry, plum, spice, mocha and licorice flavors are delineated and super-expressive. I would prefer to give the 2015 at least another year or two to integrate its 100% new oak, although the wine is pretty impressive even in the early going. The 2015 was aged in new 228- and 500-liter barrels.
