Score 87/100 · Drink 2025-2029, Neal Martin, Feb 2025

The 2015 Laroze offers ample blackberry, wild strawberry and orange rind scents on the nose. This has fine lift and there's a bit of "zest" about this Saint-Émilion. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant, soft tannins. This is simple, with a touch of balsamic toward the finish that is showing just the first signs of dryness. Yet it has an easy-drinking, approachable quality to it and slips down the throat with ease. Tasted at the 2015 Ten-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index.

Spiced rosemary, black cherry, fully ripe fruits that head just over the line towards fig and prune, it's enjoyable, full of character, fully ready to drink.

Deep crimson with some evolution. Masses of juicy fruit. But not that much structure. A little less opulent than the 2016. Slightly simple and early-evolving. (JR)

Tasted blind. Sweet, inky, reasonably well-balanced nose with some interest. Big and bloody and rather old fashioned. Very evolved which is a bit of a worry but distinctive certainly. Ripe tannins. Pretty dry finish. (JR)
