The NV Extra Brut Cuvée TER Noir from Philippe Gonet—a blend of one-third Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, one-third Pinot Noir from Montgueux and the rest Pinot Meunier sourced from Monthodon—evokes a deep, complex bouquet of almonds, pastry, white flowers, pear, quince and apricot. Medium to full-bodied, layered and delicate, it has a vinous core of fruit, bright acids and a long, mineral and saline finish.

Blend of equal parts of foudre-vinified Chardonnay from Grand Cru Le Mesnil, Pinot Noir from Montgueux and Meunier from La Chapelle Monthodon. Aged for three years. Smells lighter, chewier and a little tarter than the TER Blanc de Blancs. Quite flirtatious with a notably dry finish. I'd give it time to round out a little. (JR)

One third grand cru Chardonnay from Le Mesnil sur Oger, one third Pinot Noir from Montgueux and and third Meunier from La Chapelle-Monthodon – all fermented in large oak and aged for three years on the lees. Full and broad and satisfying. Neat and convincing with a chalky finish. Dry finish but not austere. Classic blend and it tastes like it. (JR)
